DESCRIPTION |

In this little work, Fr. Joseph takes as his starting point the Marian year that the Order celebrated in 2001. He examines the foundations of Carmelite Marian spirituality and focuses on one aspect, that of Mary as she who listened to the Word of God and allows that Word to shape her entire life. He develops the theme of Our Lady as a model for each of us as we seek to respond to the invitation to enter an intimate relationship of friendship with God. Joseph Chalmers was elected the 94th Prior General of the Carmelite Order in 1995. Trained as a lawyer in his native Scotland, he specialized in Spirituality during his training at the Gregorian Pontifical University in Rome. |
